Pipe Organ Samples was created for the sampler software TASCAM GigaStudio
3.x and 2.x. Please check TASCAM's
recommendations for running GigaStudio on their support site.
Notes on
the hardware configuration:
| CPU: |
Use
a fast CPU, because slower ones decreases the maximum polyphony
you can play. |
| RAM: |
Put
as much RAM in your computer as you can, as it limits the maximum
capacity of the samples which you can load into the sampler software
simultaneously. |
| Sound
Card: |
GigaStudio 3.x needs either a GSIF compatible sound card or a ReWire compatible host application to operate.
GigaStudio 2.x also needs a GSIF
compatible sound card to operate smoothly. However, if you are
using Windows 9x (e.g. 98 SE) and GigaStudio 2.x, you can use a Direct Sound emulation
even with your non-GSIF compatible sound card. Under Windows®
2000 or XP, you cannot use this emulation. See TASCAM's website
for more details. |
| Hard
Disk and Disk Space: |
For
a faster performance, first we recommend a high-speed hard disk,
and second that you copy all samples from the DVD disc to your hard
drive. If you copy all the samples, you will need about 25 GB (GigaStudio 3.0 Full Edition) of
hard disk space. It is recommended to have at least a 7200 rpm hard
disk with a maximum 8-9 ms seek time; however, SCSI is not required,
ATA 100 or 133 or SATA will do just fine. If you have a recent computer
model, you should not worry about this; if not, you might experience
delays, clicks or misses in the sound and you may wish to
upgrade your system.

| Additional
devices: |
To
use all the features of NDB Pipe Organ Samples realtime, you will
probably need a MIDI-keyboard with additional Modulation Wheel Controller
and Foot Pedal (Expression Controller Pedal). See the User's Guide
for further information on how to use these controllers with NDB.
You may also want to play the pedal notes with a real pipe-organ
pedal. If you are looking for a real wooden pipe-organ MIDI pedal
